Default AC half works

Recently noticed the AC works on the driver side vents and blows lukewarm air out on the passenger side. Had the system evacuated and it refilled (thinking it was low, it was full). I was told the AC compressor is on its way out. Under load it’s putting out about 25 psi. Is there a blend door that would be stuck somewhere? It’s ice cold on the driver side. Did a self diagnostic and it gave codes 21 and 24. Anything I should check over before I get a new compressor? Thanks in advance.

If your compressor is putting out ice cold air on one side I would hold off on replacement and look at trim doors

The whole cabin temp sensor that regulates the whole cabin results is common to get dust clogged , does not throw a code

You can run the trim door motors with a 9 volt battery and hear them

Your face demand pontiometer has a 5 volt DC reference and the output varies from that , they do go bad from reading

The compressor can be rebuilt yourself cheap

You have a Denso 10PA something

See the video part 1 and 2

Your codes are here

AC System Self-Test.pdf (846.7 KB, 209 views)

Try this link. It explains your codes, and would suggest it is your solar sensor and the vent flap potentiometer at fault.

The solar sensor has the same 5.0 volt reference voltage input and the same altered output if you shade it

You can nick the output wire and test it , like the potentiometer

reference page 137 , pin cc29-1 and cc29=9

The cc29 connector is marked as Green in the pic and is the higher of the 4 connectors as the A/C ECU as mounted

In the bigger picture of your observations , the solar sensor would bias slightly the whole cabin cooling performance but not your left / right output observations

The same with your face potentiometer between upper and lower trim mixing

Remember the 9 volt battery trick that works as you run the trim door motors , some have moved the doors to the position wanted and then clipping the wire

See page 80 and 88
