Default Aftermarket Radiator Cooling Fan

Hi everyone

The radiator fan on my x300 has started squeaking. Suspect the bearing has worn. Its not easy for me to access used parts because shipping to Singapore costs a bomb, and I'm unsure of the remaining life of used parts either. I was wondering if anyone had any luck fitting aftermarket Radiator fans? what are the size/specs? Is it 12"? And does removal of the cowl impact cooling performance?

Thanks!

Removal of the cowling makes a situation of when the cooling fans are required to run because of the coolant temp control , air can't be pulled through the radiator

This is different if you're already up to speed

Too great a risk of over temping the engine

All ELECTRIC sedan cooling fans from about 1993 to 2003 (Late XJ40, X300 and X308) will bolt in.

I put X308 fans in our '93 XJ40 and as Bob says they bolted right in, but I did have to splice in the electrical connectors. Not sure about the X308 to X300 connectors.

Cheers,

Don

I don't remember needing to replace the fan motor connectors on the XJ40 but I know the X300, X308 are a direct fit.
The top isolator mounts for the plastic shroud assy might be slightly different where they bolt to the radiator (shorter or longer bolts required).
You could just reuse the mounts your car has if they are different.

The MOTOR/FANS themselves are the same so just pick the best plastic shroud and put the best motors in.
Jaguar used to sell the entire shroud/motor assy so I saved the used ones to assemble into working units or sell good used motor/fan individually.

I have not worked on the XJ40s for several years now. (I don't see many around anymore)

The Part Number for the XJ40 fan cowl assy (VIN 667829 onward) is MNC4270AC
The Part Number for the X300 fan cowl assy (VIN 720125 onward) is MNC4270AC
The Part Number for the X308 fan cowl assy is MNC4270AC

JEPC list the parts as compatible with superseded parts all ending with MNC4270AC in all the model ranges.

I cannot explain the connector difference.
