Alive and Well in New Brunswick
The jag arrived in Calais Maine on July 7, even the hauler had to admit the condition of this xj6, I have driven it 60 miles of round trip to work 8 out of 10 days. The front end and bearings as expected need some attention. I cannot tell you the condition of the rest of the car except to say immaculate, everything works, leather is exceptional, cup holder even works, it appears that a cd was never in the changer, ash trays no smell or scratches. I think I have lucked out, drove to border crossing into Canada and was approached by a gentlemen asking in front of border guards if I wanted to sell. 68,512 miles, no engine lights, starts smooth, under the hood is extremely clean, paint has a few dings and needs wax ( advise), and a couple of golf ball dimples on trunk lid. As I understand the car was a summer car from New England. It goes in to have my front end guy check thing out on Monday. The car does like to go fast, with deception. I enjoy every minute in this car like no other. Spare is a perelli P4000 z rate in extrodinary condition as well as a replacement rim that have never been on a vehicle. Clock led comes and goes but who cares about time?? I have had no internet since the Storm on July 5. Thanks

Pics please! I have a love/hate relationship with my XJR. I've spent way too much money doing catch up maintenance and repairs, it frustrates the heck out of me when something else breaks, but when it runs right it's such a joy to drive! It sounds like you've got an exceptional specimen. Congrats!
BTW, I might be saying things you already know, but the two most important things to do initially is to change all the driveline fluids, and have the battery tested. Cars from this era have a large electrical draw and need a top notch battery. I just replaced mine. It's a group 49. After this comes a whole myriad of suspension maintenance, but it sounds like you've already researched this.
Keep us up to date on your progress. And BTW: pics!!

Thanks for the advice, battery was doa, got an interstate mega-tron, works like a charm, am changing the oil and transmission next week, the coolant looks good and I tested to -25c, may change anyway. As for suspension, I know I have a few things ahead, front bushing on passenger side seem to have had better days. I appreciate all the advice.
