Another slight trim difference, B pillar seatbelt adjuster chrome trim
Spending a little time browsing around, I noticed another subtle trim difference between the XJ6/XJR, perhaps VDP and XJ12.
If one looks at the interior b pillar seat belt shoulder strap height adjuster, you can see where the upscale interior includes a bright chrome trim ring that appears to snap into the adjuster opening. I think this was standard on the XJ12 and perhaps VDP.
On the XJ6 and XJR, this trim is not included.
Just another interesting difference.
I've picked up some used pieces of this trim and plan to snap them onto my XJR

Finally got around to adding these trim rings to my 1997 XJR. I pulled them from the B-pillar trim in a wrecked XJ12 a few months back. They slip right into the opening and are only held in by six metal tabs that bend into and around the back of the trim piece.
To install you simply have remove the nut holding the shoulder belt harness, then pull the velour door edge finisher from the front and rear door frame on the B-pillar. Then the B-pillar interior cover will lift off. However you should fully expect all the plastic tabs that clip into the finisher and hold the piece in place to DISINTEGRATE no matter how careful you are. Fortunately the door finisher trim seems to hold the cover in place pretty securely even if these tabs are broken, but I'm going to rebuild the tabs with some epoxy and scrap strips of aluminum anyway.
But you just slip the trim rings in, then bend the tabs around the edge and reinstall.... done. It is a 30 minute job max.
And it looks much better in my opinion with these in place.

I've got the "test" b-pillar cover in the for sale forum for "free" as long as someone pays for the shipping. I hate to throw it away if someone wants it. I'll keep it listed for an indefinite "while" before tossing it in the recycling bin.

I have a '96 XJR. I just went into the garage and checked. Mine also came with those chrome trim bits. I do have a rare interior (trim code LFJ)--which I learnt the hard way after I broke the sun-visor clips and failed to ever track the exact ones down...

Isn't that interesting that you have the chrome trim in your 96 XJR. I wonder why the 96 XJR (at least in Canada) had the trim pieces and the 97 did not.
So now I actually wonder if all 95 and 96 cars had the chrome trim, but all 97s perhaps did not and this was not a trim level (e.g. XJ6 versus XJ12) issue at all.
I too have the LFJ Nimbus Grey interior BTW. Is that considered a rare interior color?

Currently, I am looking for those sunvisor clips but I haven't had luck for almost a year now

According to the few wreckers I have checked with, it is rare. Every time I try to obtain some Nimbus Grey trim piece I usually get the "It's too rare to find" response... I don't know if that is the truth or not

Hrmm, interesting. It is true that I've had a hard time finding a Nimbus drivers sunvisor (like new) for the last couple years, but find a lot of the similar but "not quite it" beige color.
As far as the sun visor clips, I see various on eBay all the time, supposedly gray. So I'd recommend checking. The X308 clips should work and those seem to be the most common, even new.
I recently bought two brand new Nimbus Grey sun visor "base foot" BEC2759LFJ, so some of it is out there if you keep checking.
What I do is search eBay for "jaguar lfj" and "jaguar nimbus" every so often and see what comes up.
Good luck on your search!
