Default Bad steering rack?

Well I just bought a 96 xj6 ice blue with oatmeal interior 55000 original miles for 7000.Car is in excellent shape overall but I noticed that fluid was leaking from boots on both outer ends. of tie rods .Do I need new boots or is the steering rack bad, and how difficult is this to fix?[sm=dontgetit.gif]

Is the boot a dust boot or is it designed to hold fluid?

ITS NOT BAD, BUT YOULL NEED AN ALIGNMENT WHEN DONE, AND IF YOURE IN A NORTHERN CLIMATE YOU MAY NEED A TORCH! AND IF YOU GET A RACK LESS OUTER TIE RODS, REPLACE THOSE ALSO. MEASURE THE LENTH FROM TIE ROD TO TIE ROD AND SCREW THE NEWS ONES TOGETHER AS CLOSE TO THE SAME LENGTH AS POSSIBLE, THAT WAY YOU WONT SEVERLY TEAR UP YOUR TIRES GOING TO GET AN ALIGNMENT
