I have noticed that if the car doesn't squeak on start up it does squeak as soon as the I turn on the AC. Coincidence?

Maybe the belt is loose.
Maybe the idler pulley, as recently mentioned.
Maybe the damper/balancer.

Turning on the a/c increases the load on the belts and pulleys.....and balancer.

When my balancer delaminated the noise was much worse when electrical accessories (lights, rear defog, seat heaters, etc) were turned on....increasing the load on the alternator and belt....and balancer.

With the various suggestions/input in this thread you oughta be able to eliminate the possibilities .

Cheers
DD

Well at least someone is taking my advice and testing first. Now you are sure it is the balancer. Motorcarman came up with that idea for testing and it save me a lot of work and expense. You can have it rebuilt but you may have to send yours in first so they can rebuild yours. They don't have a supply.

Just a quick note on the harmonic center bolt when the first mechanic did my harmonic balancer they mustn't have tightened it properly and it came loose unknown to me it had bent the key-way and key thus offsetting the timing they also just tightened the balancer back on
This year I replaced the front main seal due to leaking only then did my indie find out that the key-way was mugged
I have spent a lot of money trying to figure out why this car always hesitated from take of morel of story when you take of the harmonic the bolt is pretty tight make sure you put that bolt at least to factory torque settings my indie used a air impact to undo the bolt on mine then put a second hand bolt on it because whoever did the the first job should have replaced the bolt instead of just tightening it up
I wouldn't have had to spend so much on other things to try and diagnose the hesitation on take of

Rather than the squeaking happening when the car is starting up it starts to squeak when the car goes from 1400 rpms to its normal idle of 700rpms. Not at startup but when the car is comming down to its normal idle. Also I noticed today when it squeaks the rpm raises by 100 then back down. So maybe it's an idler problem?
