Cable loose in seat motor

Hey,
I recently had the same problem. I removed the seat's four mounting bolt (Torx 50) and tilted the seat back. I already had the back seat out accessing the rear shelf speaker. After I got the front seat back where I could see, I saw that the drive cable was out of it's gear box. I stuck it back in and held it while testing. All was well there. I could not tell how it was supposed to be secured and I wound up using two nylon cable ties to secure the loose cable to another cable. I just did this two days ago so I don't know if this will effect a permanent fix. So far so good.

From one of my previous posts:
"With regard to the front of the seat raise/lower: Under the seat there is an insulated, flexible black rod that connects the motor to the seat raise/lower gearbox. It is under the right front part of the seat, and can be reached if you put the seat forward and the rear of the seat all the way up. Not an easy reach, but if you look under there (open the rear door and get down there with a light), you will probably see the wire loose. there is a round hole that the end of the rod must latch into. If you can do this, the front of the seat will move up and down again. Mine comes loose once in a while."
And it's loose right now, again. Need a method to secure it!

This is an old thread I ran across via another search, but thought I'd update with a cross reference link that addresses this issue with some more information. Hopefully this helps when someone has this problem.

BTW, based on my observations while doing my repair, it appears to me that the reason the cable slipped out originally and may continue to do so is that the cable was originally held firmly up under the center of the seat cushion with a plastic zip-tie. This zip tie was broken on mine. Once I reattached the cable it seemed much more stable.
