Default Car kicks, check engine light flashing on and off, help!?

Hi everyone, the last couple days my car has been loosing power, mostly noticing it on idle just as I am waiting at a stop sign of light, and start going, the car kicks, the check engine light flashes on and goes away. If it kicks "BAD" ENOUGH, the transmission light will come on. I have also had the car stall twice in the past 2 days from this issue, with the Tranny light, battery light, and oil light all light up. I have scanned for codes and nothing. My mechanic off hand by test driving it says it was the fuel pump, but what would that have to do with the transmission light being on? If anyone would help, please, I would greatly appriciate it. Also, when the tranny light is on, the car begins to sift funny, like when pressing the gas you can feel it downshift with a pop when you let your foot go off the gas, and then when shifting the gear selector from D TO R or opposite, it will pop.

If it was an S-type, I'd ask how old your battery is.......do our fine X300's go funny like that when the batt gets a wee bit weak?
