Central locking control unit replacement X300 1995-97
Hi all, I need to replace the central locking ECU of my 1996 XJ6 X300 4.0 Sport which has the code LNA2600CC / 001 and I was able to find another ECU, but with the code not exactly the same: LNA2600CC / 00X of a XJ6 3.2 Sport from 1997 ...
Do you think it will work? Will it be compatible? Has anyone already had this experience?
Thank you very much for your input and suggestions ...

The replacement unit should work, but it will need to be programmed to match your keys. This can only be done with Jaguar dealer level diagnostics system (Jaguar IDS).
Alternatively, there was someone recently who swapped the chip holding the key data from the old unit to the replacement unit successfully. See this thread.

Since the Security Lock Control Module is directly powered by the battery as a hot at all times I found by doing a hard reset has resolved my issues as I put it out of normal operation .
Since you are in Italy the radio security code my be lost so there may be around that
In the US the radio security code is not used as well as the chipped / transponder key
Remove both positive and negative battery cables and touch them together
You can use a jumper cable to clamp them together and place a cardboard box over the battery terminal posts
The longer the better and even overnight
This does not reverse power on the car but allows the SLCM and BPM to discharge any locked up logic steps and return to zero state
