Just ignore it?

Not going to affect anything under the hood. If not just cap off all the vacuum lines with caps.

Mine works great....use it all the time.

Lucky...its the only thing that has never worked for me. I have swapped out the brain, the vacuum pump and checked for leaks...nothing.

I've never taken the switch apart though...

My 1995 XJR Hong Kong car does not have cruise control; wish it had one fitted. Wonder if retrofitting is possible.

As far as I'm aware, cruise control can be retro fitted. The wiring and plugs should be there, though I may stand corrected on this. There was a thread on here quite some time back regarding this topic. A search should unearth it.

I enjoy having the added benefit of cruise control. It makes for more relaxed motorway driving and avoids the possibility of accidentally speeding. The easiest, simples way of "removing" cruise control is just not to switch it on!
