Cruising RPM's 2004 XJ8 VP vs. 2006 Portfolio
I have a 2004 XJ8 VP and a 2006 Portfolio. The '04 has 67k and the '06 has 14k. Both have the six-speed ZF transmission. However at 60 mph the '04 runs at around 1400 rpm or less and the '06 is pushing 2,000. I am wondering if perhaps my '06 isn't dropping into 6th gear and allowing the engine to run cooler. Or are the higher RPM's due to the S.C.? Is there a need to keep the rpm's higher?

Oopsies! You've overshot the proper forum by a line or three. Perhaps a moderator will happen along and move your thread to the proper forum. We all have 4 speeds in here. You want to peruse this room for info on your models: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/
