Cylinderhead gasket
Hello,
I want to change the headgasket at my Jaguar Daimler six X300, 1995 (4,0).
I looked at different pictures and saw that the timing-chain has been taken off several times.
Do I have to take off the cog-wheels, too? Or is it possible to get the timing-chain through without taking of the cog-wheels? It seems to be very narrow on the pictures, I saw. I would like to avoid unnecessary work as far as I can, of course;.-). So, I would be thankful for each helpful advice.
Maybe you have a link to good and detailed instruction for me, that’d be great.
Many greetings from germany,
Artur

when I did mine, I found it necessary to remove the cam sprockets to move the timing chain out of the way. when you do remove the timing chain, I find it very helpful to rubber band them to the timing chain guide to keep it out of the way and to prevent the chain from falling down into the lower part of the timing cover.
