Dead clutch :(
Hi all! Does anyone in UK know of a cheap replacement for clutch master cylinder? My XJ6 did proudly over 3k miles in Europe within last 2 weeks, and then on Monday morning when we were queueing to the ferry in Dunkirk clutch pedal started getting all the way to the floor and staying there... I managed to drive all the way back to Ipswich, then drove it a bit yesterday, and eventually I had to drive back home about 4 miles without clutch, through traffic lights and roundabouts, which was massive fun... Switching off the engine every time I stopped, then putting it in 1st and then starting the engine... Then matching up the revs to the wheel speed in order to change gear... Oh, joy! Anyway, I asked at Jaguar and they sadly said price of over 250 quid, which I'm not willing to pay for something that small for this old car... If I can't find cheap solution (and I mean cheap cheap), then the Jag will pay me back whatever he owes me, read: selling it part by part.

an X type clutch master cyl is around $80 USD. dont see why you should pay more than that. same for landrovers and range rovers
try here. maybe its the same as xj40

Good thinking.
Five minutes of Googling suggests that it IS the same.
The X300 uses part number CCC6760
The XJ40 uses part number CBC8825
Jaguar replaced CBC8825 with CCC6760
This implies interchangability between the two....and that a far less costly aftermarket cylinder listed for an XJ40 would work on an X300.
A bit more research would be needed to confirm but the idea looks promising
Cheers
