I don't even have my car yet (next week) and I want one. LOL

Had my X300 4.0 Sport for almost 6 months now and finally got around to installing Andy's bracket that I purchased several months ago (was waiting until I changed the timing chain tensioner).

I have just been for a spin and it has put a smile on my face. I don't think my XJS with its 3 speed auto would keep up now even though I run its timing further advanced than spec also

I have a X300 4.0 NA and mounted Andy's bracket for 3 months ago. There is also an open air filter mounted earlier. Using RON98 fuel.

Results Dynojet: +20hp and +50Nm

fuel economy: - 0.5 litre / 100km

I purchased A bracket from Andy back in April, It was very simple to install, Taking the fan pack off for easy access, and cardboard behind the radiator, made it easier.
I absolutely noticed better throttle response, and around a 2mpg improvement. Thanks Andy! I'd like one for my other XJR now. should I e-mail you? Mike

I have now sold all my current stock of brackets, bringing the total to 150. I've hand plenty of enquiries, but I now need a few more actual orders to justify manufacturing another batch of these parts. If anyone would like one, then please get in touch.

dear Alfisti,
I'm afraid I have not received your email. Where did you send it? My emaiul address is andystodart@metronet.co.uk

Dear All,
I have had a lot of enquiries and have now pre-sold my normal batch size of 10 brackets. If anyone else wants one, then please let me know ASAP and I will increase the size of the next batch I make to meet the demand.

For those of you that have installed this bracket, is it possible to remove the sensor while the bracket is still on the car? I don't have a vise, so I was thinking it would seem easier to remove it while the stock bracket was still on the car?

Yes
And it's a small fixing screw, you can likely loosen it while holding bracket in your hand, or with channel-lock pliers. Vise made it easier to take pics.

Another satisfied customer sent me this link to his You Tube video of his dyno test which showed a 12bhp increase at the wheels from fitting my bracket to his manual XJR6.

I have 2 to 4 mpg increase on my 96XJR and I love the throttle response.

Andy

Rec'd the bracket today, and got it installed in about 15 minutes. I loosened the 8mm bolt that holds the sensor to the bracket, then removed the two 10mm bolts that attach the bracket. I then held the bracket and removed the 8mm bolt, and removed the sensor. Got your bracket, test fitted it over the guides, slid the sensor thru the hole, and put the 8mm bolt hand tight with some blue Loctite. Fit the bracket back over the guides, put some blue Loctite on the ends of the 10mm bolts, secured them, tightened down the 8mm bolt, and was done. Almost as simple as removing the stock airbox!

I'll have to wait to road test it, since it's been raining off and on. But from what's been posted, I'm hoping to at least "feel" a little better response, and slight increase in mpg. Should be well worth the investment, and definitely one of the simplest modifications I've ever done!
