Default Drivers side front latch assembly needed

Hello,
My X300 cable broke on the driver's side front door lock. I have a new one and tried to attach to the latch side. I ended up taking the latch out completely, and the plastic connectors from the exterior handle links are cracked. I also wasn't able to attach the cable to the latch assembly, it wouldn't stay on the assembly. I need help, it would be easier for me to just install a complete latch assembly with cable and I can attach it to the interior door lock.
Help, Help, Help.

There is a tiny circlip on the aft end of the interior pull cable

it may have fallen down inside the door sheet metal

If you can't come up with one I can pull one for you at the salvage yard I visit

You can call them and have them ship a latch assembly but I wouldn.t expect the clip to be included but just lost along the way

Make sure you tell them the year and inline 6 as they have one but may be subject to selling the whole door

A damaged V8 version may work if they have a damaged door and on inspection can see that they are compatible

Parker,
The clip would be a big help. I'm thinking that I will use epoxy to strengthen the plastic push clip that the short exterior handle rod is pushed into.

You might try to drag a small magnet down low and pick up a curclip

It"s a pretty healthy piece and not just a wire curclip

what are your thoughts about using a generic curclip to secure? I can buy a set of assorted sizes.

I fashioned one for the front of the pull cable at the handle end

But if memory is correct the aft one was special and maybe stamped metal so a generic may not work but worth a try keeping the receipt
