Default Eaton m90 supercharger

Hello all,

Does any Eaton M90 supercharger fit the1994-1997 Jaguar XJR ?

My mechanic tells me that my supercharger (which has travelled 180,000km ) is making ‘grumbly’ bearing noises and may eventually fail or need attention. He does however acknowledge that in many years of running an independent Jaguar workshop he has never seen one ‘let go’.

There are several used Eaton M90 superchargers on the market from non Jaguars hence I was wondering if purchasing one of those would fit. I do understand that the pulley dimension may need to be changed for the Jaguar.

Regards
Ron

Yours can probably be rebuilt. there are kits available that include new bearings and a new gear link thingy , along with new fluid. Not terribly difficult to do from what I've read. It might be a better option than buying a used one.

I agree, and the Jaguar version of the M90 is a unique casting anyway....so one from a different car wouldn't work
