Minor and random faults, nothing like inherent faults with the wiring harnesses. A proper code reader will retrieve stored codes from you car's electronic control modules to help identify the reason that the lights came on. In the case of an intermittant air bag warning light on an X300, the GUESS would be a bad casette reel: that's the contact ring behind the steering wheel for the electical connections to the driver's air bag.

You're welcomed, Cooke.
The problem with code readers is that some will get you a little, few will get you alot.
A generic code reader like a $50.00 Actron will read common engine performance codes that will help lead you in the right direction when troubleshooting.
The airbag system requires a scanner that reads body codes: to my knowledge, the cheapest route means purchasing AutoEnginuity software and hardware to interface with the car and read codes on your laptop. I have not used this system, and I have read on this and other forums that it is not fully compatable and as a result, not fully effective as a diagnostic tool.
Which leaves WDS and IDS, and that is the Jaguar proprietary diagnostic system and its more comtemporary replacement. You can't handle it.
Best advise is the cheap scanner for the simple stuff, dealer for the rest. None of this stuff is easy to diagnose, and complete and accurate technical information is not easy to find. When I first started trying to figure out what tool I needed (I use WDS), there wasn't even a description to be found like the one I just wrote you.
You don't have a bad car, there are just a few minor and/ or intermittant problems to straighten out. A few you may be able to tackle yourself, a few you won't.
