Default exhaust upgrades?

Hello all! I've been dreaming about upgrading the exhaust system on my XJ6 for awhile now. Has anyone here changed out their mufflers/silencers/cats/tips? If so, what products did you go with?

Thanks!

This is a Quicksilver system with a 5 dgree ignition advance Andy bracket on a normally asperated 4.0 liter

He had problems with proper lenth between LWB and SWB models when ordering

60 mm is the pipe diameter at point X , single crossover pipe after the first catss

I think it's the same measure at the downpipe donut gasket point as 2 banks

You have to be careful on assembly at the downpipe gasket flange as the 4 down pointing studs can damage the seal flange , this effects engine regulation , runs rich

Whatever you do, dont go for a rear muffler delete - it drones like mad and doesn't sound very nice.
i tried it and ended up adding some generic smaller diameter straight-through rear mufflers - it gives a bit more volume, but no drone.
simply performance has some stainless mufflers, but i haven't tried the rear boxes - i have the over axle ones, and they didn't change the sound much compared to stock.

Echo that about the rear box delete. Terrible drone.

Thanks! Yeah I think I've dug up all the possible videos on YouTube. The Quicksilver system sounds great, but those tips are awful lol.

I echo (no pun intended) the notes above about keeping back boxes. I have two stock back boxes and straight piped everything else up to the cats, and it makes for a great deep exhaust note at full throttle while being pretty tolerable during normal driving. You could probably get a local custom exhaust shop to cut out the forward mufflers and replace them with just straight pipes but keep the back boxes intact.
