Front Suspension Update (*a few questions*)
So i have all new parts
installed
Front Sensen shocks
2 top shock bushing
stabilizing bar links
stabilizing bushings
sitting in box
lower shock bushing
4 top control arm(wishbone) bushing
2 Big lower control arm(wishbone) bushing
2 Med lower control arm(wishbone) bushing
2 top ball joints
2 lower ball joints
2 outer tie rod ends
I Need these parts and tools before i install everything.
Rack N Pinion ( any one know a good source for this?)
all power steering hoses ( there are 4?)
power steering Pump ( autozone is BEST DEAL $170 life time warranty)
all spring ban bolts ( what size are these?)
left and right engine mount
I am making a tool alleng suggested to me for removing the springs
i cut a 36' steel rod into two pieces 20' and 16'
i need to drill a whole into it and maybe weld the small part that goes threw it ?? (allen??)
can i make a tool for removing the bushingS?
a long bolt with 2 nuts and washers. just make a huge pipe so bushing can slide into it. and on other side a socket to push the bushing out.
think it will work or any ideas on a bushing removal tool?
a cheap torq wrench that can do like that covers 1nm -40nm atleast?
like always ill make a detailed DIY pic tutorial for you guys
just help me out with this info

I was looking around for a steering pump re-build kit and I found nothing, they seem to stop at 1994??!!! SMH!!!...The Autozone deal may have to suffice for that it seems to be the cheapest too...
Take the steering hoses off and find a hydraulic shop near you, call them and get a quote for them to make you new ones so they can use the original fittings...and ask them about rebuilding your steering rack too...it's what they do and I'm sure it will be WAY cheaper than buying the original bits...
See and shop around for your mounts on Ebay and grab a good deal....1997 jaguar xj6 in Motor Mounts | eBay
I'm looking around for the best way to remove the control arm bushings and I can only think of using a hack saw blade to do so...if you have OEM style, I'd just take to shop and have press them in...But then again check the link to see how to get it done using urethane roller skates (I like this idea ) ...it's from the X308 forum but, you get the general idea....https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...004-xj8-94229/
Looking forward to see it work!
See vid for home made tool for bushings...

Yes there are 4 hoses, be sure you need to replace them though as they are pricey. The high pressure hoses are north of $120 each!
The spring pan bolts are M8 x 16mm I believe.
If you do make a tool, be careful sizing the sockets as some of the bushes have quite a thin wall. If your socket is too small it will just push against the rubber and if it's slightly too big will jam in the bore.
The only bush that needs a slightly different approach is the lower front wishbone bush. You can't use a socket as there is nothing for it to purchase on. You will need to cut off two edges of the 'brim' of the bush and then use something to push against the exposed edges of the wishbone to remove the bush.
You can get a cheap torque wrench with a 20-200 inch pounds range from Harbor Freight that'll run about $10-15 on sale.
Looks like you have a fun weekend lined up

Yah the high pressure one is $100 . And I found a hose from Res to cooler and another from cooler to something else. Each $40.
Can't find the fourth hose. But all of them are cracked. My radiator hoses aren't in good shape either but aren't leaking. My power steering fluid goes empty after 4 days. Then I have to Re fill it.
Every hoses is cracked I double check and the rack n pinion inner tie rods are done and its leaking from the seal. Sucks ***

If you are using an 8mm pin, you could use a 5/16" drill bit and then just drift the pin in. If you are using a 5/16" threaded rod as the cross pin, you could use a 19/64" bit and then tap the hole for 5/16".

Power steering rebuild kit is about $10 from most online sources. Takes only a few mins to do.
