did you check the bulb socket for corrosion? not only the one in question but also chek the other bulbs on the same side. ive never had an issue with those myself but say for instance a dual filament bulb broke one filament and it is doing contact with the other filament. that would cause weird problems in that circuit. u can remove them and test them all with any 12 volt source and 2 wires.

Anthony,
I posted this some time ago for others.
At the corner of each fender, where the undertray and wheel arch lining all meet, is a multi pin plug. One on each side of the car.
They are well documented to corrode and loose contact. you will possibly find 12v on the body side of that plug, and 0v on the bar side of it.
Seperate that plug, clean it, spray some WD40/CRC/whatever on it prior to reconnecting. This usually fixes it.
If not, then you have a male and female terminal inside one of the 2 sections who simply do not want to get together and do their thing.
This happened to mine, and when I went looking, I found a bridge wire around that plug for the LH foglight, damn. Cleaned it as described, all good, bridge wire gone.
The side lights, NO IDEA, we don't have them, but the circuits for them ALL go thru these 2 plugs I mentioned above.
