so basically i bought something i thought would work, but it did not so i heavily modified that to make it work.
i have seen something that would be easier to use. If i can find a link i will share it.
A ring mount. It is a little complicated whatever you do, but as i said if i was to do it again i could do it a little easier and a little neater after a having learnt what i learnt by doing it.
i have also tidied and updated the wiring using full waterproof plugs.
will upload some more pics at a later point when i get a chance.
which part of the AU are you?
your profile does not say.
Hey mate,
so I only joined two weeks ago and hence my location is not displayed 😂 but I’m located in Melbourne, VIC. My reason for joining is that I’m getting an x300 soon and one of my biggest desires for it is to get daylight running halos hence for me jumping on this forum and seeing you’ve done a nice example already! I’ve owned one Jaguar prior which was a 1989 XJ40 sovereign spec (it was a proper classy shitbox might I add hence me moving on from it)
I might opt for the custom bracket root because it might be easier.
Just a quick small update.
i had to remake the headlights after an accident so i used some more solid brackets slightly different.
so inside is still wired for highbeam only (low and high connect together) and parker. No indicator.
outside is low , high, parker, and indicator.
i used some brackets from ali express
Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! AU$4.29 25% Off | Motorcycle 5 3/4" 5.75 inch Headlight Bracket Kit for Motorcycle Ring Mount Brackets for 5.75 Inch LED Headlights. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNQCe4c
Had to do some trimming as the outside edge was too big and also the notches to line the lights up did not match.
Here are some pics to show.
feel free to ask more info
ideally need to cut the circle mounting brackets a little smaller to make easier fit
would love to have machined alloy mounting brackets
To mount the round adapters too instead of modifying the plastic factory mounts that way could get a more pro finish and oversize the mounting holes for the round brackets so that one can easily adjust and centre the headlights.
