Default How do I reinstall the smaller sunroof trim panel? - RESOLVED

By the looks of it the panel is supposed to sit in the drain channel guides but I can't seem to put it in.

Do I need to go from the back to the front? But that way the metal piece going across is blocking me. Going from the top seems impossible.

What should I do??

I figured it out and might post a video in the next few days explaining the process for anyone else that might be doing the same. Also I wanted to ask you @motorcarman since you've repaired so many of these sunroof. Is it normal for one side of the mechanism to sit a bit lower than the other side when in the tilt position? The sunroof works fine.

Also where do I install this spring?

The interior trim panel need to sit parallel to the steel sliding roof.
The spring steel 'hooks' on the panel sometimes get bent and will not engage the mount points.(needs adjustment)
Just use the flat palm method of pushing the interior trim back out the tilt opening and try to get it lined up correctly.

PUSH UP and forward to engage the spring 'clips' back into the mounts and let them 'snap' into place.

I think you misunderstood me. Everything is removed from the mechanism. No trim panels no metal panel. You can see on the images that one side is quite a bit lower in the tilt position.

Take the motor out and slide the cables 'individually' until they match.
Re-install the motor!!!!

Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do I slide the cable manually? And do you know which one is for which side?

Tap the sliding block assy in the tracks back and forth until you get what you want.

What do you mean tap the assembly? I tried pushing it but it doesn't budge(see video). Where should I apply the most force?
