Default How does the Memory option work

Hi guys

Its great having this forum and I would really appreciate some wisdom from the knowledagable.

I have just recently purchased a 1997 X300 and am sorting out a few minor electical things.
I am not entirely sure how some things are supposed to work and they appear different to the driver manual and I am not sure if its a "fault" or a "build change".

I don't have a Jaguar service centre where I live so have to use a local general garage and would like to be able to give as much info as possible before I give them the car.
1: The memory function .... in the manual and new owner video it says that a light is supposed to come on in the memory switch when you press it and then, when you push buttons 1, 2 or 3, you will hear a beep.
I am getting no light or beep but the memory is working.
Should I have a light and a beep?

2: While the memory is working for steering column and mirrors it is not working for the seat position. What would be the most likely cause of the fault and the best place to start looking.

3: The passenger seat back works most of the time but, intermittantly, it doesn't respond until I do something like tilt the seat then it works again. What would be the most likely place to start looking for the source of this intermittant fault.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Michael

Hi JC2161

I was able to download them OK.

I had my new member "access limitations" removed which may be the reason I could download.
If thats the case with you you may wany to contact the moderator and ask to be allowed full access.

I am having the same issues with my seat memory. I am a newer member and don't have the ability to open the PDFs from Motorcarman. Is it possible for somebody to email them to me? How do I contact an administrator?

Thanks for the help!
