About 120k right now. Bought it a few years ago with 30k. Until 3 years ago I didn't drive much for work but things have changed :-)
It's been a great car and I really enjoy it. It's been dead reliable but hardly trouble-free, if you get the distinction.
Doesn't have the power of the Supercharged V8s, of course, but still has ooomph....and I have a soft spot for straight sixes and Jaguars. They seem to go together like a hand in a glove. I'm a little nostalgic that way :-)
Cheers

Hi, I just bought my second 96XJR, Loved the first one so much, I searched around and found another one. Our first Cat is black on black Named Stella. she's been a handful, but now that all of her quirks have been worked out, Wow, I love that car. My wife drives it every day now to work or wherever. The second XJR hasn't been named yet, and I'm still working out a few little bugs. I'll be putting her on the road soon, She's Flamenco Red, with a cream colored interior. both are beautiful, Stella has 86000, While Red Has 132000. I will drive either one whenever I can! If you're in the market, up here in the Northeast, it seems the x300 series is a little tough to come by these days, I think I got lucky!

Haven't been looking but even in '05 it was hard finding a low mileage example. When I found mine I had been looking for months....lucky me it was only 50 miles away. As soon as I hung up the phone I scooted down to the dealer with my checkbook!
If i were to get a X300 XJR i would get a 95 since they only made 500 XJR's in 95.
Thanks,
-Mike

Hmmmm, where did that number come from?
XJR/6 production
1994 1340
1995 2741
1996 2148
1997 318
Of course, Jaguar production numbers are by calendar year, not model year. Presumably all of the 1994 production and the first few months of 1995 production would've been "1995 model year" by USA standards

Mmmm.
12/95 XJ6 X300 3.2ltr daily driver for ME. Has 186000kms now, and averages 25k kms per year. Owned since 2009.
5/85 XJ-S V12 (real engine) for HER, at 252400kms, and is her daily driver. Owned since 1996.
4/76 XJ12 S2 Infected, was HER DD, now goes out sometimes, and since its the only one with a towbar, does the "real work", and is sitting at 501000kms at the moment. Stole that one in 1994.
ALL our Jags have been daily drives since 1968, NEVER had another brand, is there another brand out there HAHA.
Considering a 2002 XJR, maybe, to replace the XJ-S, or I just might splash for a Bentley Turbo R, just for fun in the retired part of life???.

Relative to the total X300 production the "R" was limited production, yes...as were the V12s.
and said only 500 will be sold within the U.S.
Interesting. It would be sorta neat to verify that, if possible. I wouldn't be surprised.

I use my 95 with 115,000 miles almost as a daily driver. For short trips I use an old pickup. bought it eight years ago with 65,000 miles on it. Only real problem was the shock mounts were shot when I first got it. But I am concerned about the cam cover. I had it off early and cleaned it well and treated it with LPSIII. But it will still not last forever. Have heard the X40 has an aluminum cover. Does anyone know if it will fit?

Both XJ12's and XJR's were limited production? I thought the XJ12 was always limited production, not matter what year x300.
