How many people use their x300 for everyday use?

Still daily driving her, I'm up to 259,000 KMs now! I tend to take long rides since I got the car, it's just so relaxing... It's truly my happy place. A few things have gone wrong recently, but I'm trying to cope. Excellent mileage - I've gotten 10L/100km since the last fill up, which is roughly 28 MPGs IIRC. I know that will dwindle once I hit a few traffic jams, but hey, how could I say no to all that style, comfort, and Q U A L I T Y? I get compliments everywhere I go, every day. I never bought the car expecting to hear any of that; I just loved the car for its beauty!
Honestly I was expecting more of the reliability jokes... but I can now stonewall anyone who tells me "Why do British drink cold beer? Lucas refrigerators!!" I've heard it so many times.

I've had my 95' xj6 4.0l for almost 3 years now! I got it as my first car for a little under 2k (I forgot the exact price), and I drive it daily to and from school or wherever else I go.
It's held up pretty well, at 108,000~ miles. I haven't put that many on, it was at 102,000~ when I got it, but then again I seldom drive somewhere that's more than 5 miles away (after all, I'm only 2.5 miles away from my school).
I only just recently had a reason to start using the highway, so now I'd say it's a solid 90% city 10% highway use. before the summer started, it was 100% city, since I just avoided the highway since it usually didn't help me get anywhere faster.

Also,@ your sig, hello from a fellow young Jaguar driver (21)! The stares are worth it, and the compliments are better!

Sad to say, I sold the X300 when the transmission went into limp mode. Until then, it had been my daily driver for several years. In all, I had it 8 years, the XJ40 for 13 years, and we still have the XK8. Rhett, your comment is right on target! The wife tells the story about while stopped at a traffic light, a new Cadillac Escalade stopped next to her and the driver couldn't stop visually going over the XK8.

My daily driver in California is my 1997 VDP. Bought it in 2014 with 79k miles and have run it up to 92k, though since working from home I don't drive it much other than to attend events and do errands. I did shocks late last year, have done brakes, religious oil changes, and one major tune-up. Just replaced the battery this past weekend. It's been a rock-solid reliable, comfortable, and beautiful car.

Very nice! That is one clean engine compartment and the cam cover looks like new.
I looked at the engine compartment pictures again and noticed that your upper ( and probably lower) radiator bushings are gone! Those are inexpensive and relatively easy to replace. You probably should also replace your air cond. condenser bushings are those will also me missing or turned to mush by now.

My '96 XJ6 has been a daily driver for either my wife or myself for the past 15 years (it's currently my daily driver). It now has 187,000 miles and needs some TLC. It's in the shop at this moment for new differential bearing, u joints, shocks, lower ball joints, power steering pump and starter. Also have the valve cover gasket replaced and the upper timing belt tensioner inspected (and replaced if necessary). Should be good to go for another 10 years in another week.

I have a 97 X300 as my daily driver. I got it around 10 months ago and have put 14000 miles on it since, still going strong at just over 170000 miles.
After replacing a number of parts (Coils, plugs, battery, Crank Sensor, Coolant Temp Sensor, Thermostat) and a lot of work learning and diagnosing issues, it's running like a dream.
It is the 4.0 Base model in Racing Green which still turns heads and feels like it is becoming a modern classic that I need to keep on the road for everyone to enjoy.
BTW, this forum has been invaluable to me in terms of understanding problems and working through them. I hope my small contributions will help spread the word.
