I see that you are a musician! I was looking to see if I could find out what year your car was. I do not have any musical ability but I have a good friend who does his name is Les Thompson from the original Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, a great guy. The diagrams are for a 95 and I hope it helps.

Hey Gus! My Jag is a '96, Blk on Blk. I don't know Les Thompson pesonally but I for sure know who he is! I did my tenure with a bluesman named Johnny Heartsman and appeared with jazz organist/pianist Jimmy Smith. I am also close friends with current and one deceased member (Eddie Guzman) of Rare Earth who I am pretty confident Les will also know.

Sounds like you travel in some pretty well schooled circles, that's great! I have a 15 year-old daughter that tells me constantly that my friends in the industry are all OLD! Ahh, the old saying is so true that, "youth is wasted on the young!"

I have been semi-retired from the music business for about ten years now but still play part time with a regional band called Rod and the Satellites. The band has been around for 45 years and yes, we are all a bunch of old farts now but played togeather in our teens and twenty's before I moved out West for 30 plus years.

Anyway, I gotta go for now but will PM you and send you some stuff on the band including a copy of our two CDs if I can figure out how. Catch ya on the flip side as we used to say. Peace, Coop

I don't tackle too much of the work on my X300 any more but I thought the price was a little to high when one considers it is the outside belt and the fans for the radiator are electric and are mounted on the radiator.

I'm not sure what your exact problem was poor boy but my a/c belt has been coming loose and I've been tightening that square adjustment screw under the car about every day. Before when I tightened it, it would last a couple days but yesterday I had to do it twice! Do you have any suggestions as to why it keeps coming out? my car makes a horrible screeching sound when it comes loose. any help is greatly appreciated

Actually my case was simple, the belt broke and I have no way to get under the front of the car anymore. (combination of age and not knowing anyone with a hoist that I could use) I have talked to someone who had a constatnt loosening problem though. He told me that he had the wrong belt but if you look at Gus's return post to me there is an engineer's view of the pulley there. If your threads are not stripped or damaged you might try applying some "Lock-Tite" to them. Be careful and talk with someone to make sure you get the correct hardness for job as it would be a different grade than what would be used for head bolts or exhaust manifold bolts. Hope this helps, peace, Coop
