Default intermittent FOB

So two days ago I went out to the car and the FOB wouldn't lock or unlock the doors. Drove 20 miles and it was working again. This morning FOB worked fine, got to my destination and FOB isn't working.

Both red and green lights on the FOB lit when pressing the buttons...?

Probably too obvious but when did you last put new batteries in your fob? It might be as simple as that!

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I considered the batteries, but when it's working it still functions at a pretty great distance.

I remembered that I changed the fuse for the cigar lighter a few days ago, just when these symptoms started.

So, last night the FOB wasn't working so I opened the back door and banged on the left-side heel plate where the fuse for the cigar lighter is and what do you know? FOB is working again.

Looks like a loose connection in there somewhere. I notice there is a fuse for "low power central locking" might that be for the circuit that detects the radio signal for the FOB?

I've had intermittent FOB but differently. No FOB lights when mine's not working. After the last such episode, I noticed the rubber of one of the buttons was caught/displaced down beneath the plastic in the FOB. Freed it up with a penknife and all's well since. Not like your problem but thought I may as well list it here for next year when someone is searching out "KEY FOB" issues.....

Glad you got it sorted...

Looks like I was just chasing a ghost. New batteries did the trick.
