Koni shocks?
I'm anticipating new shocks within the next few months.
My first thought and, frankly, most likely conclusion is to buy replacement Bilsteins or, ideally, the Bilsteins specific to the German market XJRs.
Another alternative is to have the existing shocks rebuilt. My understanding is that Bilstein offers such a service. Turn-around time might be an issue here as the XJR is my only car. I'll have to do some research.
Lastly, and getting to my question, has anyone tried Konis on their XJR/X300? Any comments? Would you do it again?
Some initial research suggests that Konis might actually be less expensive than Bilsteins...although I worry that Koni lists only one shock for all X300s rather than an XJR-specific replacement.
Cheers

I've only got good things to say about Koni's - fitted to all the E Types I've restored....this doesn't help with the XJR though I know......
What's special about the German market spec dampers? I know they've a different part number...rear MNA3540EA against MNA3540CC and they're yellow as against green...
To be honest I'd go with the oem dampers if you can get them. I see the German yellow fronts are £106 each part number MNA2140BA (which is £35 odd cheaper than the green ones!) here
Genuine Jaguar Parts and Jaguar Accessories for Classic Jaguars
And they will supply USA customers, through the dealer network - so if you quote the part numbers @ your local - they'll sort it.

Thanks for the input, Sean.
The German-spec shocks are "supposed" to yet firmer than the other XJR shocks. Can't say that I've seen that verified in any Jaguar literature but that's what I've been told.
It dawns on me that the Konis are adjustable which probably negates the need to offer mutiple choices for all the different X300 build configurations. Sell one type and let the customer adjust to suit his liking.
Cheers

Tha's probably as good a guess as any. After all, no manufacturer these days puts out additional part numbers for no reason.
