Mine has some small cracks. I put mink oil on the leather yesterday. What is considered the best way to condition the leather? If it already has small cracks can anything restore it?

 

There are a number of companies offering materials to restore leather. I have used Leatherique products with great success. They offer a filler as well as conditioners and dyes.

 

Much like an "oil thread" you'll get lots of opinions including Leatherique, Gliptone, Lexol, Zymol and even less boutique brands like Maguire's gets good reviews.

And there are folks that swear by good ole saddle soap.

I think any of the popular brands will work if used correctly, and one keeps the leather clean, which is key.
