Match new ECU with ignition key.
Hi, I had to replace the old ECU because the pins on one of the sockets were broken. I managed to find an ECU with the same numbers etc, but i forgot to ask for the ignition key to match the chip codding. Is it possible to change the code in either the key or the ECU, or is there another way round this. The car is a Jaguar xj6 3.2 1997. Thank you. Regards, Robert.

I might be wrong, it does happen, and JD is to blame.
WELCOME to our world, enjoy.
I am NOT aware of the X300 having a chip ignition, or other, key/s.
Being a 3.2, so a non electronic transmission. So no ECU to deal with that.
I dont believe there is what you are asking on a 3.2ltr X300. That came in with the next model, I THINK.
Others will chime in sooner or later, and bear in mind the USA market did not see the 3.2 cars.
