Hello, I recently purchased a 1997 XJ6 in Anthracite/Coffee with 110K, new paint, Michelins and a near perfect interior. I had been looking since the spring when I overheard a conversation about this car and checked it out. I was able to determine it had been serviced at the dealer from new until 2009 then purchased locally. The 3rd owner had died suddenly after buying and doing substantial work on the car in 2010 and his wife drive it for about a year and a half. She then fell ill and the car had not been driven much since 2012 but was started and run regularly. The were asking 6K
The car had new cats, exhaust, plugs, springs, coils, rear view mirror, and various other items, It has been in the Southern US all of its life is rust free and seems to have been always garaged and well cared for.
I offered and purchased it for its NADA value of 3k and have since replaced a PS hose, Transmission extension gasket, lock remote and a bunch of small bits. I still need to fix the steering wheel tilt and replace the door speakers this winter.
All-in-all I am finding it and interesting car and one my wife and I enjoy driving and taking to car events.
I am currently going through the threads looking for helpful information and appreciate all the helpful posts!
