Need Help Guys.
Im about to get a different car, because i cant for the life of me figure out how to fix it. It has been the best car i have owned so far, but it definately is a love hate relationship.
I have 97 Xj6, 125k. Every time i come to a stop i have a 50/50 chance of the car cutting out once i hit the gas. It'll shudder and move a few feet and cut out (sometimes going though a light or stop sign). Other times wont even give an hint of wanting to cut out.
Just cleaned the throttle body a week ago, found a little excess oil in the intake. Replaced IAC, TPS about 25k ago, along with a couple of o2 sensors. Car runs awesome apart from this problem.
What gives guys?

Going out on a limb, my usual place I am told.
It is a USA spec car, so hence the "limb" bit.
Your market has an EGR system (exhaust gas recirculating), and many, many threads I read have this "Valve" as the prime cause of "crappy idle", "rough idle", etc.
I cannot help with servicing of this item as we did not have this luxury addition to our cars.
Again, USA market, means a 4ltr engine, sooooo did the TPS get orientated with the ECU when replaced. Again, I read about it, but never done it, mine is a 3.2ltr, simpler car. Lots of threads in here about that little issue.
A few other items my 3.2ltr has given me:
CAS (crank angle sensor), loosing its count sequence.
CTS (coolant temp sensor), giving odd signals to the ECU's.
Cam Angle Sensor (whizzy thing at the LH front corner of the engine) having a hissy moment.
The plug for the CAS is full of "sh&t", and that "shorts" the signal.
The Blue relay in the RH under bonnet fuse block is not making good contacts. It supplies 12v IGN to the CAS, and is known to go AWOL.

jeremiah - i will check the coils tomorrow, only light i had come on once was the limp mode light. Although my ck engine light does not work, so i will scan for codes tomorrow also.
Grant Francis - i cleaned the EGR not to long ago (few months?), never remapped the TPS. Have checked the CAS, CTS, Cam angle sensor, mass air flow sensor, and the relay all look good.
- after i had check the above sensors the car ran fine tonight, no problems what so ever. So maybe i have a fautly sensor?
thanks for the help guys.
