You should be able to lay rubber and take off 'quite smartly' .

I found a very pronounced drop in power if the intercooler wasn't full of coolant.....which means the main cooling system is also low and/or you have an air pocket. I could tell when I was low on coolant (I chased a mystery leak for a few weeks) when the power was strong when the engine cold-ish but dropped off after 10-15 minutes of running. Another time I replaced a dead intercooler pump and had a helluva time getting the air pockets out. There's a bleeder on the top if the intercooler/inlet manifold, by the way.

That said, the intercooler can only do so much even when all's well. On my XJR the power difference was very apparent, chilly winter 40ºF morning vs. August and 100ºF ambient.

Cheers

Hi Tim , You have bought a great car and hope you enjoy it. From a thread on this site I found info stating that when checked the throttle position sensor was showing much less than full acceleration. So purchased a better obd2 reader ( I have 2 others )from ebay , it was under 20.00 delivered to AU and combined with an app called torque flight , gives more info than just trouble codes , I checked my TPS and at best was only 53% info to the ECU . My point is that , and I agree with the advice given to you , but having a reader like this can also guide you to issues without spending money on parts you do not need ( been there done that ). this unit may give you info on your oxygen sensors .The TPS is adjustable but is a sensitive thing to do apparently going to do mine when I have time and do not have to rush the job. Also I downloaded a workshop manual on line , I think it was about AU$15.00 Which guides you through the process , also good to have for specs etc. If you cannot do that their are some very knowledgeable members on this forum who I am sure will be happy to help you .I personally search for threads on one particular at a time , ignition , exhaust system etc or what I believe may be the problem...good luck
