I have noticed that my 1997 sport doesn't beep when locking the car with the remote fob. I have tried the reprograming with the valet switch etc but still nothing, all i get is the headlights flash after the 5th press of the valet switch, then when unlocking and locking no beep.

Any help on this would be great.

 

Might be the siren itself. My car only 'chirps' twice when unlocking. Doesn't chirp when locking. Makes chirps when entering and exiting fob learn mode (as far as I can remember). Can you make the siren work by opening the boot or bonnet while it's armed?

 

The chirp on arm/disarm is a configuration setting that can be changed with the Jaguar diagnostic equipment. I have mine enabled, but a friend of mine had me disable his. He only gets the light flashes.

Setting the system off would be a good way to make sure the sounder is working, though.
