No turn indicator or door ajar sound
In my xj6 I've noticed that the click noise while the turn indicator is activated doesn't make the sound anymore and also the door ajar chime when keys are left in the ignition no longer chime either.
Anyone of any idea what controls that? I don't really mind it but I'm just curious as to what would go out?

I had the same issue when I purchased my '96 XJ12. No warning or indicator chimes at all. Turns out there's a speaker mounted to the steering column that makes these noises. No flasher relay or buzzer modules like conventional cars, but rather a little (maybe 3") speaker.
Now, the speaker isn't available separately from what I've heard, so I bought a whole upper column assembly on eBay (the main reason was that it came with a remote fob and all the steering column motors). I de-soldered the speaker wires from the old, re-soldered the new speaker, clipped it back in the steering column bracket, and I've had chimes ever since. Sometimes the wires get a short, causing the failed speaker. If you can't find an exact Jaguar speaker, try to get one as close to the original impedance rating.
It was very annoying not having them, especially since I almost killed the battery twice by leaving the parking lamps on.

The speaker in the steering column is probably dead. I had the same issue. It took a bit of searching on the forums to find out about that little speaker.
When I took out the old speaker and tested it, it was completely dead. I used a small speaker from an old pc I had lying around to replace it. The sizes were about the same and was easy to solder in. If your comfortable doing wiring work, it is a very easy fix.
