Reseting the Security Lock Control Unit along with the BPM by a hard reset would make sense to getting the immobilizing signal ( initialized with your key ) back in order
The ring around the key barrel ( RF exciter antenna ) goes to a transponder box not shown on the 3.2 liter print
The term immobilization is a term probably better understood as a single enable ( mobilization ) digital signal that is valid out of the millions of other invalid digital signals
the devise is enabled as it is only looking for that one valid digital signal and is blind to anything else

if wont help, will try to find another security ecu with ignition and key...

Back on your post # 25 the picture of the gray connector loose may be for the ring around the key barrel or the transponder unit called a decoder unit
This decoder unit from my understanding is located close to the key barrel behind the dash
Researching
The US models do not have the chipped key until 98 with the X308

Can you see the color code for the 2 wires on the gray connector ?
One wire if it is the suspected connector would go to the exciter ring around the key barrel and the other wire ties the Decoder Unit box to the BCM
The color for the wire from the Decoder Unit box to the BPM is Red / Blue and the suspect connector is suspected to attach to the Decoder Unit box
The build sheet for your car coming down the production line my not have been accurate and yours has the chipped key to make the car start off the production line and the car compared to be it a less expensive equipped 3.2 Executive model having the electrical harness installed to be able to have this feature but the Decoder Unit and Key Barrel Exciter Ring not installed . Just guessing yours may be a odd production .
My computer laptop has a broken display screen so I use on a limited time a TV display with a patch cable to a persons TV ( brother ) , that person is waking up now so signing out

if it’s immobilized it should throw a P1260 or something close to that. KTM may have forgot the key or something down the line is bad. you can program a new key with IDS. if the CEL turns off when sitting in ignition then the car is 100% immobilized
we have another guy here that’s also having this problem

I have read these have known issues with the crank position sensors going bad on the AJ16 and that would absolutely cause a no-start, this may be what is plaguing my XJR. Im out on the road OTR truck driving (lorries for my friends across the pond) and havent got home to diagnose it, but I have all the lights on the shifter illuminated.
