Offside rear indicator always on

Hi all,
My dad has a 94 xj6 and last night I noticed that the indicator was on while the car was locked.
I started the car and the hazards flash at a normal rate (other than the offside rear which just stays on) but the right indicator flashes at the faster rate.
I had a look under the boot carpet and it seems pretty wet. For now I have removed the bulb to stop the battery going flat.
Any suggestions on where to start would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dan

Best place to start would be the Electrical manual for the car which you can download via the "How To" stickies.
I would be looking first at the rear Lamp Control module. It's a black box in the boot fuse box beside the battery. It's about the size of an old VHS casette.
If you have a multi meter and can follow the wiring diagrams then check the inputs and outputs of the module. A used module is around £30 on ebay so may be a worth a shot if you would need to employ someone for testing/diagnosis.
(I'm assuming you're in the UK based on evidence in your post as no location in your details. I'm also assuming you have an X300 car and not an XJ40. 94 was the changeover year from XJ40 to X300 - both called XJ6.)

Thanks b1mcp,
I did look for profile info last night but couldn't find the settings on the mobile site, but yeah its an x300 and I'm based in the UK. I have a vague understanding of the electrical system in the x300 but I just wondered if there was any simple diagnostics tools etc that could help.
When I get chance I'll trace the indicator back and test the lamp control module.
Thanks,
Dan
