Oil Pressure sender 1995 X300
My oil pressure sender/transducer which started fluctuating from zero to middle range on the gauge which was fixed by a Jag garage with being slight corrosion on the connection and worked for about a year has now totally failed. Working perfectly on a recent journey then failed after restarting car. Subsequent 'playing' with the connection and car restarts has failed to make it record from zero. The red oil warning light is permanently on. My engine number is 123131 and I believe it has the earlier transducer (not the resistor mod) However I am not sure about this as I bought the car at 6 years old. It has got a red and a blue wire coming out of the plastic connection from the transducer, see pics. I am not sure what transducer to buy to replace it as most appear to be 1-wire 'spade' connector and not the plastic connections. Appreciate any advice.

My new oil pressure Transducer JLM20791 arrived from 'Berkshire Jag Components' and I fitted it today successfully. Started the car up and the gauge worked perfectly and oil light alarm went off.
It was easier than I expected it to be, I followed another tip from a member, unfortunately cannot find that post, but he suggested removing the Throttle Body, which is a plastic unit that has two spring clips at one end and a large circlip at the throttle end. Removing two snap-on connectors and the 10mm nut on the housing plus the circlip on the thin air-pipe and the whole unit just lifted out. This made removing and installing the new Transducer so much easier than trying to access it from underneath the car. (Which in my opinion unless you're using a hoist is next to impossible).
I used a long 21mm box spanner and ratchet wrench. I took my time and it was less than a 15 minute job. (The transducer is just to the right of the oil filter.)

I recently had to replace mine as well due to it leaking oil. With my XJR, access from up top is nearly impossible, but once I moved aside the throttle body brace from below, it was easy to loosen and then exchange with a replacement from Uro Parts. After replacing the oil pressure sender and redoing the valve cover gaskets, it now no longer leaks oil, even with 199k miles on the clock.
