Default Oil sump gasket

I have a good leak going and im pretty sure its the sump/pan gasket.

Im changing the oil/filter anyway so I thought why not, the space looks pretty tight but is this doable with just jack stands and the usual tools or does it require engine mount disconnection and hoisting?

Also are there any parts for the oil dipstick tube seal as it looks like it could be coming from there as well might just be the pan gasket though.

Im also finding it very hard just to find a replacement gasket the closest ive come is finding this,

http://www.justjagsuk.com/product_de.../15317/?model=

problem is it looks very much like the automatic transmission gasket which I think it is. Any word on dealer part costs and shall I just make my own using gasket paper.

Yes, that is the trans sump pan gasket.

There is no gasket for the AJ6 or AJ16 engines, they use sealer, Hylosil or the like. If your leak is mostly on the side with the oil filter, be sure to chek the oil cooler lines or the blanking adapter if there are no cooler lines. "O" ring seals there can leak a bunch. If it is more on the exhaust manifold side, check the headgasket area just in front of the #1 exhaust port.

Good luck!

Cheers,

Oil sender unit, on top of the oil filter housing do leak also.

As said, NO sump gasket, and VERY rare to leak from that area.

There is a gasket between the oil filter housing and the cylinder block, BUT, if no one has messed with those bolts, extremely rare for that to leak.

The oil filter itself can leak at its seal due to over tightening, and lack of tightening. Also ensure that the old seal comes off with the old filter, as I have had some that stay stuck to the housing, and 2 seals do NOT seal very well.

The oil filter is not leaking, it looks like the oil leak is starting from the sump gasket area and pissing down but will check the oil cooler lines. The oil dipstick tube end also looks covered in oil but probably due to something else.

While im changing everything does anyone have any part numbers for replacing the oil cooler lines/o rings and the oil dipstick tube seal or actual part if its just screw thread.
