Ok guys what is the awful sound?
So iv had the car almost a year and in that time when its cold, and i start her up i get this awful noise. as soon as i turn the lights on, or the climate fans on high or any power load it gets worse. now this all stops when the car warms up. i thought it could be the alternator bearings because the gage moves down when the noise happens.
anyways here is the video link, inputs guys. thank you

that sounds like anything on the front of the motor, harmonic balancer, water pump, pulley bearings, alt. you need to listen to each component with a long screw driver, or a $10 mech stethoscop from sears. DONT put the tip on the pulleys, but on their hold down bolts and be carefull of rotating parts

I'm with Doug.
My suggestion would be to remove the belts, I know its an "R", and a pain, and start it up, still got noise, or all quiet?????. DO NOT run it tooooo long, but I reckon the a seconds will tell all you need.
NEW belts will do NO harm.
These "PK" flat belts get very "hard" and make some serious wierd noises when cold, and go quiet/quieter when warmed up. In that process they slip terribly until warm and "sticky".
