Passenger seat not moving

Passenger seat not moving
Hi,
I was wondering if there are more than one motor for the front passenger seat? The only problem I am having is that the seat is not moving forward or backward and I do not hear the motor trying to move. All other movements of the seat are perfect.
Just wondering if the problem is probably the motor or the switch.
Any ideas/suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jomo

There is more then one seat option, one being a version with a memory labeled button on the door controller so it will go to 4 preselected positions
This requires that the seat has position sensors to have the seat position agree with the preselected position
If that is the case you can try selecting Memory 1 , 2 , 3 ,or 4 and see if the seat pan moves
See page 178 and 184 for non - memory
jagxj1996.pdf (jagrepair.com) it takes a while toload
You can see the seat controller pin map on page 26 and keep in mind the map is with the connector off and looking at the controller
You can drive the motor with a battery charger on the 10 amp setting on pin SM1 - 7P ( pee ) , ( Purple / Orange wire ) and SM1 - 8P ( pee ) ( Purple / Gray wire ), the same for both the memory version and non - memory versions
Polarity does not mater and you can swap electrical power source leads to move the pan forward or aft . The controller swaps polarity on these only 2 wires to the seat pan motor to change direction
The driver and front passenger seat each have 5 different motors and I'm not aware if they are interchangeable and may be a specific gearbox attached for the position assembly

With a swap of the left switch into the right seat may give you something
The backseat driver position does not have this switch
What I found with mine was the door controller had the connector lock bar loose letting the connections migrate loose
My issue was with the window but may apply in your seat
Keep in mind there is a hidden screw as the 2 door panel splits between the top and bottem portions ( this screw is in the aft position ) , There is a screw under the round rubber seal at the front of the door and a second screw further forward of that if I recall correctly
There is a # 1 screw under a small square cover on the interior door handle dish
And a long # 2 screw under the forward part of the long interior door handle that you must approach at the correct tool angle
