Default Power steering fluid change

Hi,
I plan on removing, not completely!, the power steering fluid from my reservoir a few times to eventually have (almost) all new fluid.
I do have two questions.
1) How many times should I syphon the fluid from the reservoir?
2) How much time/miles should I wait for until the next change?
Thinking out loud, if I turn the wheel from end to end will that circulate the fluid for the next change? How many times should I rotate the wheel?
Thanks,
Jomo

My method, maybe does not sit with some, OK, but all my Jags are happy Females.

Syringe out the old.
Refill.
Start the engine.
Pour some water around the tyres (front obviously), turn lock to lock 4 times.
Stop engine
Syringe the old.
Repeat the above until what comes out is the same coloue (or very close to) what is going in.

1 week later, mine were daily cars, so 40km round trip to work, one more syringe and fill.

Same with the Auto trans fluid, clearly not going lock to lock, thats just an excuse for consuming beer, but with the 40km, daily, after 6 days, drop and refill, and keep going until its the same colour, simple really.

There are 10 dollar thumb pump priming siphon kits at the auto parts store that make it easy

Poor your first drain into a measuring cup and you can calculate how many times to drain / fill to full cycles to get to a percentage of fresh

In practice just listen for the noise ( cavitation ) to disappear and then one more drain fill cycle beyond that point e

To go cheaper then that get a 1 / 4 inch , 3 foot piece of aquarium hose ( cheaper at the hardware store on a roll ) and stuff the fill end of the hose in the reservoir ( there is room ) a put your finger over the drain end of the hose nd pull out wiping the fluid on the outside of the hose off as you pull it out

Spend the money you save on beer

with the power steering fluid warm it flows faster

Or, get the kids to grab an enema syringe from their work, cheaper still, and work a treat.

While you dump it the hoses on the bottom that have aged and deformed can lose their seal and you can cut off a 1 inch piece and get a better seal with a lessor deformed hose end
