Power steering module

I reckon it does.
My base 3.2 has it. The steering is significantly lighter at parking speed, and "firms up" as you drive off.
No idea where it is, as I have never had to look for it.
Yes, the light steering would stay if the module, or the sensor, is having a hissy, then that parking speed assist would stay at all times, MY opinion.

Give it a whirl and report back
I've never cared for the steering feel on my '95 and have long intended to disconnect the electronics just to see what happens. I keep forgetting.
Presumably doing so would put the system into a base or default mode (I guess)....but would that be minimal assist or max assist.....or something else? I dunno. I've never studied-up on the system.

Could you be more specific in the description of what you're feeling?
At 60 mph a driver is typically making only small steering inputs/changes. Probably not enough for power assist to be an issue.
If you're feeling a general lightness or floaty-ness it might be a tracking/alignment issue rather than a power assist problem.

It's as if there is over assist. The whole front end was done last July with new suspension bushes etc.

Hmmm, over-sensitive steering? I don't read that as a problem with the power assist. I'd have the alignment settings checked....especially the caster.
