Default Propshaft spigot bearing

Hi all,

Iv just had my diff rebuilt (costing just shy of £600!!!!!!!!) and i have been told the propshaft spigot bearing needs replacing. Is this the centre bearing on the prop? How can they tell it needs replacing when i sent the diff off to them and they havn't seen the car?

The *only* bearing I can think of on the propshaft would be the center bearing.....which IMHO doesn't match the description of "spigot" bearing...and, as you say, I'm not sure how they can condemn it from afar.

I'm just three sips into my first cup of coffee, though. Maybe I'm missing something.

Cheers
DD

I spoke to the diff people yesterday who told me the spigot bearing is the rubber donut on the end of the prop! Quite how they can call that a bearing il never know!
