Question about lug nuts on 96 x300, please help.
hello, about a year ago I purchased original jaguar 16" rims that were chrome plated from LA Tire online, they spealize in adding chrome plating to regular factory rims on cars. Now, the factory lug nuts for my 1996 XJ6 do fit in there, but everytime I need to have them removed for a tire rotation or balance I have a lot of porblems getting them off, as they do get stuck in there rim quite often. Is there any other type of aftermket or jaguar lug nuts that would fit? I see a lot of lug nuts for the car on ebay for a cheap price, but am unsure of them, if anyone knows anything please let me know, thanks.

The thread size on the Jaguar nuts is common so that won't be a problem. As for the diameter and length of the part of the lugnut that acutally goes thru the wheel....I'm not sure if that's Jaguar-specific.
I'd visit a local tire store that does a lot of aftermarket wheel business. They'll probably have umpteen different types of lugnuts that you can look at and try before you buy.
Cheers

When you say stuck, do you mean unturnable (as in too tight) or jammed (as in don't fit, can't get a wrench on them).
If they have been hammered on with an air gun you might well have a problem with steel nuts and alloy wheels. You really should see that you/your garage finishes tightening by hand with a torque wrench, and then checking again after a few days.
Over enthusiastic use of the gun can ruin alloys, even as far as cracking the rims.
There are many schools of thought as regarding the use of an anti sieze compound, I won't offer any advice one way or the other.
However your nuts need to be really clean and dust/rust free.
With the wheel off, screw and unscrew the nuts back into the hub a few times to help clear the threads.
