Using the valet switch does not affect the operation of the green key. the green key will always lock and unlock the door and start the car and can never open the trunk. Pressing the valet switch disables the trunk release button inside the car as well as the button on the trunk itself. Once in valet mode the only way to release the trunk is with the key fob or the black key. If you green key does not start the car, you may have a problem with the key or a worn ignition cylinder. Does the green key unlock the door?

As a side note - You should always make sure that the black key opens the trunk by testing it periodically as well as lubricating occasionally. If you always open the trunk with the fob or with button the key mechanism can get stuck from lack of use. Then, if you have a dead battery you may not have any way to get into the trunk if the key does not work. Especially problematic since the battery is in the trunk. There have been several threads here on the best way to break into a X300 trunk in this circumstance.

hi, the green key only locks the door it wont open it, and when I put it in the ignition it wont turn to start the car, then when I press the valeet switch it will turn, but then when I go and take the key out it dosent come out prefectly it gets kinda stuck and u gotta wiggle it out. As far as regular black key, it works fine and fits prefect in the lock tumbler.

It sounds like the black key and tumblers are worn to each other and the green valet key hasn't been used enough to match the wear on the black key.
