Rat surprise
I haven't been proactive enough about taking my '96 XJ6 out and foolishly left the hood closed. One of our dogs refused to leave the car alone all afternoon which should have been a clue. The following day I opened the hood and was horrified to see a large rat on the middle of the engine. The rat immediately disappeared and has yet to be caught. It didn't take long to find its bed next the drivers side firewall and bathroom on the passenger side frame rail. Closer inspection revealed chewed wiring and what I believe is a severed drain hose. I have soldered and heat shrunk the wiring to the best of my ability but I'm not sure how to tackle the severed drain hose. I'd like to pull it out of the fire wall but don't know if its a push fit to replace it or a connection hidden deep under the dash. Any and all advice welcome. Thank you and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

It's too high to be a A/ C evaporator condensation drain
Probably a drain for the trough that your wiper blade rotating shaft goes through
The trough is plastic screws that you can expect to break off so a penetrating oil before hand may avoid breaking if it can get down into the threads

This portion of the wiper assembly is on the engine side of the firewall with the round drain hose that does not have a hose pointing down
Other then the drain for the trough behind the firewall it could be the roof gutter drain as there is one for the back portion of the roof gutter
if you look on top in the gutter you may see a hole that you can put some water in it to verify
There is the same drain line on the right side in the engine compartment if I recall
The drain line goes down past the LS3 connector which is verry important so you don't want liquid running down the outside of the hose contaminating the connector

This may be of some help:
Your severed one is the one hanging straight down. Pretty certain the one with the forward-slant fitting is a sunroof drain. Your hose passes through a rather elaborate molded grommet to get it into the fenderwell, such grommet doubles as a wiring pass-through. I would recommend just getting some barb-fittings and a length of splicing hose.
