Wow, $150 AUD, still pricey.

Don't know about the glass fuses..... I'd hope not, and am not aware of any in use in the X300??

.

If the contents are the same as my tool kit, those are bulbs not fuses. The interior lights and trunk use those bulbs.

My XJR came with a special cardboard box in the boot with a spare supercharger, an airflow meter, a couple of oxygen sensors, two gaps where the TPS and ICV should be, and a scrap of paper with my mechanic's phone number on it..

Yes Very pricey, for the tools that are in it, I just really needed the insert.
If Id had a physical example I think I could of used some foam to make one, however Im a little precious about it all being pefect :P

Glasses are all bulbs not fuses.
Fuses are on the left side, plastic and colored.

Thanks for all the comments guys, As pictured above I definitely have two glass fuses in my kit. Evidently they have been placed in to make the kit look complete. I will replace with the appropriate interior light and boot light bulbs.

Default Tool kit inventory

Has anyone got an inventory of what was in the kit? They are rare in the U.S. and expensive so, I plan to try and make one using foam.

I bought one of the tool kits relatively cheaply, a few years ago , for my Daimler 6.
the kit was still in its cellophane, in-used.
not long after I got it, an old lady came to see me (I am an orthopaedic surgeon). She was troubled by a screw that was protruding through the skin. It was put in in 1953 when she broke her ankle falling on Ben Nevis. She didn’t have insurance and didn’t want to spend thousands having a minor op. I said “Just a minute...”

I ran down to my car, grabbed the red “Jaguar” screwdriver, ran back upstairs, cleaned the tip with alcohol, warned her it would hurt a bit, and took out the screw. She was very happy, and I didn’t charge a cent.
very versatile, those Jag tool kits..

It's all well and good to have the original tool kit that came with the car, but really 150.00 plus for a dual blade screwdriver and a couple of open end wrenches? I would just buy some closed cell foam for the base and make my up own kit. Extra bulbs are nice but I bought a new headlamp bulb at an Autozone store when I was on vacation. If you are blowing fuses you have some real problems with your electrics. Changing fuses would be a short lived repair. When I took my new to me X300 to Washington state, part of a three thousand mile trip up the coast I put together a little kit in an old leather handbag which I placed in the trunk alongside the spare tire.

I found a nice tool roll available from British Parts Northwest, It has plenty of space for an assortment of real tools. The real peace of mind is carried in my wallet. An extended range plan from AAA!

I found 2 on ebay UK. imported them to the US for my 2 1996 VDP's. They are absolutely not available in the US. Only the XJR trunk versions are available here.
There is a 1995 fender took kit available on Ebay right now.

Isn't that "James" job to fetch that for you? That's what the nifty cap is for, no?

Just an FYI for X300 owners, if you venture to the X308 section you may know that I make under-hood tool kits for the X308, and have sold several to owners in various US states as well as several overseas countries. I was recently asked if I could do an under-hood toolkit for the X300s, and I finally managed to get hold of a tool kit tray to use as a pattern. They are on eBay if anyone is interested, (just search for X300 tool kit) and also here on the Forum marketplace. .

I have 2 of them still in factory plastic. (sorry not selling) but I think the tool selection in yours is probably more useful.
Nicely done
Steve
