Rear centre console modified to fit standard SWB

Rear centre console modified to fit standard SWB
So,
I wanted a rear centre console.
I purchased one and then found that it did not fit in the standard car.
it needs either a long wheel base model
Or a short wheel base with the executive style rear seat that has only 2 seats as the seat is different in the middle size.
so i needed to adjust this and make it approx 27mm shorter.
so i pulled back the leather.
sliced the end off. Sliced out a chunk about 27mm.
stuck it back together with expandafoam.
put filler over the join area.
sanded it down nice and smooth.
glued the leather back on.
cut down the top trim piece.
elongated the mounting hole so i can secure it.
put it all back together,
added a jag badge (instead of daimler badge)
added some black foam tape to the end to seal it against the console nicely.
also recoloured the leather
seems my size makes a perfect snug fit.
just gotta install a rivnut into the mounting hole on the car floor so i can screw it in
had to cut out a little bit of the carpet so i can mount it. So if it was removed there will be visible holes in the carpet. But oh well. I never plan to remove it.
was a lot of work to modify this and make it fit but now i have a one of a kind piece.

I got the pieces in which to do what you did on the rear seat center console for mine
But not accomplished it yet
I see the color change on your 2 tone interior between your seat leather and center console
I always left your front seat center console lid with no oil based cleaner ( just water ) so it will except a dye if needed
But not accomplished it yet

i think a previous owner smoked in the car and has caused staining on certain trim materials.
modifying the console was a bit of work, but well worth it imo. It just looks like a premium finishing touch.

i have looked at picnic tables.
they require to get the whole seatback from a daimler 6 or VDP.
they are not compatible with the standard seat backs.
