rear speaker by the back window

I am not sure as my "poverty pack" has no such speaker, BUT, since the fuel tank is directly below it, common sense (hahahaha) says it should come out via the top.
I do not think even Jaguar would be so silly as to have to remove a fuel tank to access a speaker, the fuel pump saga is bad enough.

from the top. Just did mine. You have to remove the whole back seat to access and remove the rear deck cover. The grill is integrated/sandwiched between the rear deck cover, so it can't be removed just to access the speaker, need to remove the entire cover.
not hard, just 15 or 20 min to pull it all out.
The speaker is 6x9 dual voice coil speaker. Difficult to find. You can probably go OEM, or use the one I used from here
DVC Speakers (found a reasonably priced set on ebay)
with a set of jaguar speaker harness adapter connectors from Crutchfield, almost plug and play. If you go aftermarket, you'll probably need a spacer. (I unglued and shaved the small ridge of the one on the OEM speaker and reused that)

Remove both the lower fuse cover kick panels, and then the two screws under there that hold the bottom seat pad down, in place.
Remove the bottom seat
Remove the four lower screws securing the seat back cushion in place. Slide the rear seat back straight vertically upwards off of the clips holding it at the top.
Remove the seat back.
The rear deck has two or more door panel style fasteners you pry up to release the rear panel cover. Finesse the rear panel cover out of the car, careful of the seat belt slot plates on each side and the 3rd tail light assembly/cover.

My car (Premium Harman Kardon) had one single speaker/subwoofer in the rear deck, near the driver's side.
Replaced it with this one.

Custom Autosound 6" x 9" Upgrade Speaker 3006 DVC | eBay
Hint: If you don't want to cut the harness, get a speaker harness kit from Crutchfield for plug and play. Ask for a harness for the DOOR speakers. Item 12071017 Speaker Harnesses Speaker adapter plugs for select 1989-up Jaguar, Porsche, Saturn, VW, and Volvo at Crutchfield.com
You also need to unglue (soak with goof off) the spacer from the original speaker, and shave the ridge from around it so it is flush to mount the new speaker, or just buy another generic 6x9 spacer ring.
Replaced it with this one.

Installed my new Custom Autosound 6x9 rear shelf speaker; sounds good!
My old Harman/Kardon LNA4114AB (69JA05) E5 rear shelf 6x9 speaker was fed by a red/blue wire pair to one set of speaker lugs and a gray/pink wire pair to the other set. The new Custom Autosound replacement has a tweeter set whereas the LNA4114AB didn't.
In the absence of knowing specifically what the red/blue wire pair and gray/pink wire pair do different from one another, I used the highly scientific method of connecting the pairs to the new Custom Autosound speaker one way and then the other and selecting the one that seems to have the best bass response (the results were basically no different from one another). The Harman/Kardon amplifier system apparently has a crossover that sends only bass signals to the LNA4114AB; no high frequencies seemed to be played through the tweeters with either connection alternative.
So, on a Dual Voice Coil speaker like this, am I correct in assuming that both sets of lugs on the speaker are full range? or is one lug set for the tweeters and one is for the woofer?
I was wondering if pairing the red/blue or gray/pink wire sets in parallel and driving just one lug (the "bass" lug if there is one) on the new Custom Autosound speaker would work (or harm the amp or the speaker)? (This is a $30 speaker, and although it sounds very good, I'm not too worried about wasting it; I just don't want to harm the amp).
Does anybody know what signals the red/blue and gray/pink feeds deliver? Is it just 2-channel stereo in the low frequency range?
Or am I all wet thinking this way?
Many Thanks!!!
P.S. Grssa, I had already repaired the old LNA4114AB once before; there just wasn't enough left to work with. The Florida sun really worked it over.

Yes. The amp is only feeding low freq (bass) direct to the speaker, through both the left (Red/Blue) and right (Slate/Pink) channel connections. (Dual Voice Coil)
Doesn't matter which side they are connected to.
(e.g. the tweeter installed on the model is an appendix in this application)
Did you get the spacer removed and reused? That took probably the most time/effort, besides removing (and cleaning while in there) the seats.....

Thanks. Yes, Goof Off released the glue nicely and the spacer came right off. I'd never used Goof Off for that type of application before and am thankful you mentioned it. All is re-installed and booming again!

Thanks to Doug for the silicone suggestion. I removed the rear seat and reaffixed the silicone around the speaker. Working perfectly.
Also, for those yet to perform this procedure, be careful of the plastic seat belt brackets at the top of the rear seat back. Those must be released before the seat back will release and they are fragile.
